Suppliers

The ongoing success of our wedding preparations will not be possible without the talent, cooperation and expertise of the following booked and potential suppliers (whichever applies):

Ceremony Site: Church of San Bartolome Apostol
Rizal Ave., Malabon City

This parish church in Malabon is one of the oldest and historically rich ones in Metro Manila. It greatly helped in our decision to hold our wedding within the Malabon-Navotas area. Despite its beauty and mystery, it is also a Church most alien to us since, as choir members, we would always serve in our community church in Tanza, Navotas. Though there are other churches within the area (e.g. Immaculate Conception Parish, we chose San Bartolome Church as our wedding venue because we were amazed by the historical significance of the Church as well as its beauty which we would want to share with everyone unfamiliar with Malabon.

Reception Venue: Pescadores Restaurant
#4 to 6 P. Aquino St., Malabon City

Choosing this restaurant as our reception venue-and-caterer-in-one is a no-brainer decision for us. First, it is really very difficult to find a good reception venue in our area, and Pescadores is the only one beyond "good." Second, Mandy really wants this for our reception because it is weather-proof. Of course, he knows the curse that comes with the very important events in my life. Though we have been praying hard for the curse to spare our special day ever since he proposed, Mandy - the sigurista that he is- - won't take any chances.

Photography: David Garmsen Photography
http://davidgarmsen.com

David Garmsen was a photographer in my friend's garden wedding. He is - I hope it's safe to say this - a bit new in the wedding photography industry but he's quickly picking up. He is full of potential, guided with humility and professionalism and I believe in his talent. I think it is wise to get a fresh yet promising talent, especially if you don't want cliche photos that seem to come from a template. Tipong copie and pasted ang face ng couple sa same pose and angle ng bride and groom. Hehe. Anyway, the prenup photos can attest to this.

Videography: Black Tie Project

I learned about the Black Tie Project through my officemate who hired them for her wedding. The photography and videography group is also popular in a wedding forum to which I am subscribed; they get good reviews there and are highly-recommended. Just their intriguing name is enough to search for them in Google, right? And their blog is just as interesting. I am totally in love with their high-quality videos that seem to be products of love-laden labor. I frequently visit the Web site to watch their wedding videos. And most of the time, I log out teary-eyed. I can't wait to see them cover our wedding! :)

Hair and Makeup: Raven Agarpao of Ravenism
http://www.ravenism.tk/

Raven is also a product of my very fruitful wedding research. I initially found her from recommendations in wedding forums, until I found detailed reviews from her clients. An interesting fact about her: she is a dentist by profession but she chooses to commit her time and resources to her real passion: beauty consultancy services. One known dentist in our barangay is actually her ex-boyfriend and good friend from college. (Chismosa mode off) She made me comfortable with makeup and pictorial (which never happened anytime before) during our prenup shoot. I think that's a good sign.

Bridal Gown and Entourage Dresses: Venessa Ocampo of Zen Tao Chi Bridal Shop
492 Pinaod, San Ildefonso, Bulacan, Bulacan

I call this lady Superwoman! She comes all the way from the northernmost part of Bulacan to meet her clients most of whom are from Metro Manila. Whenever we meet, she would always come from another appointment with someone from Manila, QC or Makati. But more amazing than that is the quality of her gowns and dresses, which she boasts are the products of her tita's skills. Ms. Ven is a Psychology graduate who after attempts to escape the family business ended up heading the same.

Groom's Suit: Marietta Remolar
Divisoria, Manila

Wedding Bands: G&G Jewely
#620 F. Dazo St., Calvario, Meycuayan City, Bulacan

OTD Coordination: The One Exclusive
theoneexclusive.multiply.com/

The One Exclusive team is one of the bubbliest I have met. They're fun to be with, they're professional, yet they seem to treat wedding coordination NOT as a money business. In their web site, they say: "We are not just your Coordinators on duty, we are also your Friends at your service." This is so true, in fact, that they even joined our prenup pictorial without a single cent worth of payment from us. No initial payment or reservation fee whatsoever. Prenup is not even part of On-The-Day Coordination services. I so love them! :D

Souvenirs (Tree Seedlings): Secret Garden of Doris
#8 Malanim Creek, Sumulong Highway, Antipolo, Rizal

The Secret Garden of Doris is a 1.7 hectare farm founded, owned and run by Ms. Doris Irog, a hands-on agriculture adviser and communicator. It promotes exotic fruit trees, organic produce, container gardening, vegetable terraces, landscaping materials and introduces innovative agriculture breakthroughs and offers landscape and farm development services.

I knew Tita Doris through my Sorority baby, Avin, and I've always been a fan of her passion and excellence in her field ever since. I've seen photos of amazing fruits in her farm, such as giant mangoes. She was featured in Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho for cultivating an exotic blue flower which she uses as an ingredient to her "Blue Adobo."

Flowers and Styling: Dennis Katipunan
Tanza, Navotas City
